Anantnag, 30 June :In a high-level review meeting, Secretary Transport Shri Naveen IAS assessed the preparedness of the Transport Department for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2025. The meeting was held in Anantnag and was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, RTO Kashmir, all ARTOs, GM SRTC, and other key stakeholders.
Key Directives and Highlights:
A dedicated fleet of 1100 vehicles, including taxis, will provide free transport services to Sadhus. Overloading and overcharging by commercial vehicles will be strictly prohibited and monitored.• Flying squads comprising MVD (Motor Vehicles Department), Traffic Police, and J&K Police will operate round the clock to enforce traffic rules and ensure road safety.
NGOs and volunteers will be engaged to assist in traffic management and promote road safety awareness among pilgrims and drivers.Special focus on inter-agency coordination, quick response mechanisms, and real-time monitoring of transport operations.
The Secretary directed all0 departments to work in synergy to ensure the safe, smooth, and efficient movement of Yatris, with special attention to vulnerable groups.
