Shah Faesal to contest from Lolab

Srinagar, March 25 : Former IAS officer Shah Faesal, who launched Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Movement (JKPM) earlier this month, on Monday announced to contest the assembly elections, expected in next two months, from Lolab constituency.   

“God willing, I will contest from Lolab. People are yearning for change and they are confident about the change taking place,” he said while addressing a rally at Lalpora, Lolab. The JKPM has already announced no to contest the ensuing election to Parliament.

Without naming Peoples Democratic Party, he also castigated the party for bring BJP and RSS in Kashmir and “start a new era of bloodshed and played with the lives of our youth.”  Also without naming National Conference, Faesal said that the party was “offering candidature” to him. “I asked I simple question to myself, how will I justify deceit and deceptions with the people of J&K for 70 years,” he said, according to GNS.      

While launching the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Movement (JKPM), Shah Faesal has promised a youth-oriented politics.

Shah Faesal resigned from prestigious services to protest “unabated killings in Kashmir and marginalisation of Indian Muslims”.

“Our party shall pursue a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir problem as per the will and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and with dignity and respect. As a mainstream political party, I want to make it clear to you that the solution to Kashmir issue finally is an issue between the two nations (India and Pakistan).

“I do not say there will be an overnight miracle, the road ahead is long and we can facilitate and become a voice to bridge the gap between the two countries as well as between Delhi and Srinagar,” he had said. (GNS)
