URI, Sep 23: General Officer Commanding (GOC) 19 Infantry Division Virendra Vats on Thursday said that millitants killed along the line of control (LOC) in Uri sector were carrying short guns being used in the civilian killings.
Addressing a press conference at Rampur brigade as per Kashmir Despatch, GOC said that heavily armed militants were carrying short guns which they are using in civilian killings.
The top army officer said that this group was likely coming to supply arms and ammunition this side to support the militancy in Kashmir.
Pertinently, army foiled a major infiltration bid along the line of control (LOC) in Rampur sector of Uri and killed three heavily armed militants.
