Srinagar, Feb 28 : Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, bid farewell to Prof. Shariq Rashid Masoodi, Dean Medical Faculty and Head Endocrinology, on his superannuation after serving for decades with dedication.
At a valedictory function, Director SKIMS Prof. Mohammad Ashraf Ganie lauded Prof. Shariq’s work in medical education, research, and patient care as an inspirational leader whose legacy will be felt.
A renowned endocrinologist, Prof. Shariq’s work on diabetes, Vitamin D, and insulin resistance has earned him national acclaim. He was instrumental in academic reforms, medical research, and obtaining DNB courses at SKIMS.
While showing appreciation, Prof. Shariq attributed his success to the SKIMS faculty, students, and administration and reminisced about his time at the institution fondly.
