Srinagar, May 19: Thousands of people attended the funeral prayers of slain militant Waseem Ahmad Naik at Barsoo Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday morning despite fasting.
Slain Waseem Ahmad Naik was killed on Saturday in a gunfight with government forces at North Kashmir’s Sopore.
Eyewitnesses told Kashmir Despatch that thousands of people including women on Sunday morning participated in the last rites of slian Barsoo militant.
Reports said amid pro-Pakistan, pro-Azadi, and anti-India slogans slain was laid to rest at his hometown Barsoo Awantipora.
Meanwhile complete shutdown is being observed in parts of Pulwama to mourn the killing of local militants who were killed in twin gunfight in south and north Kashmir’ on Saturday.
