Srinagar, Feb 11 : A soldier, Satyajeet Kandhol, son of Sajjah Singh from Panipat, Haryana, allegedly shot himself with his service rifle at Badami Bagh Cantonment, where he was posted with 20 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) E Company.
Authorities are investigating the incident, and his body has been sent for postmortem.
The reasons behind his action remain unknown. Suicide among security personnel is a growing concern, prompting mental health initiatives. (CNS)
