Sopore: Chief Judicial Magistrate Aadil Banday decreed an acquittal order in a cheque bounce case (cheque amount 2980000) titled Mohammed Maqbool Ganaie v. Abdul Majeed Hajam under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act in northern Kashmir’s Sopore on Thursday.
The accused, Abdul Majeed Hajam, was declared innocent and acquitted of all charges.
Speaking over the phone, Sameer Dar, advocate for the accused, revealed that the complainant failed to substantiate the enforceability of the legal debt as required by law.
The defense counsel successfully pleaded the case, leading to the acquittal.
Advocate Sameer Dar expressed his enthusiasm, noting that the factual details of the case consistently pointed towards the innocence of the accused from the outset.
