Special Cleanliness Drive Launched in Baramulla
Baramulla, September 19: Acting upon the directions of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo, Municipal Council Baramulla today launches a special cleanliness drive from Kralhar to Baramulla town as part of nationwide campaign “Swachh Bharat Mission”.
President MCB,Umar Azhar Kakroo,Executive Officer MC Baramulla, various councillors among other officers/officals participated in the drive.
On the ocassion, the participants cleaned several locations having vital public importance which was highly appreciated by the people.
Highlighting the importance of sanitation especially during the present COVID-19 pandemic situation, DC said that such a drive was launched with an aim to maintain hygiene at places of public significance. He said that such an ambitious mission conveys a pious message which should be followed in letter and spirit. Meanwhile he stressed for active participation of all stakeholders in achieving the desired goals of the programme.
While terming the public cooperation necessary in achieving the goal of hygienic environment, DC emphasized upon awareness dissemination about the ill hazards of garbage. He also stressed upon various stakeholders to use dustbins and not throw garbage along roadside.
