Suhail Rather is new President of Journalist Association Bandipora

Bandipora, May 28: Journalist Association Bandipora comprising of 15 members on Sunday elected its new body including president and other officer bearers.

The elections witnessed active participation from all the members, reflecting their commitment to growth and development of the media fraternity in the district.

In the election process all 15 members exercised their right to franchise and elected Kashmir Convener correspondent Suhail Rather as its president, Rising Kashmir correspondent Shafat Malik as vice president, while JK Updates correspondent Abdul Qayoom and Zee Salam correspondent Shehzad Ahmad were elected as General Secretary and Treasure respectively. KNO correspondent Sajid Raina was elected as Spokesperson.

Expressing his gratitude for the trust placed in him, president Suhail Rather said that he is honored to be elected as the head of the association and he will remain committed to work tirelessly to uphold the principles and ethics journalism.

He vowed to promote unity among media professionals and address the challenges faced by the community.

It may be noted that the Journalist Association Bandipora solely represents its registered members and does not include individuals associated with Facebook journalism.

While acknowledging the value of various media platforms, the association remains committed to promote ethical journalism practices and ensure the highest standards of professionalism.

It extends its heartfelt appreciation to all the members for their active participation in the elections and their unwavering dedication to the profession.

“Together, they are poised to bring about positive change and create a united voice for the media fraternity in Bandipora.”

The association is committed to promote transparency and combat corruption. “We firmly condemn any unethical practices, including journalists demanding bribe from businessmen, government officials and individuals.
