Sunrise Abu Bakar touches table on 2 number
Baramulla : A cricket team named on Martyr Mudasir Shiekh became the winner of Army’s Uplona Rashtriya Rifles first edition of Bindass Premier League.
The tournament was organised in the memory of Shaheed constable Mudasir Ahmad Shiekh who laid down his life gallantry fighting militants in Baramulla in the month of May in which three militants were killed by the joint team of security forces.
According to Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, the league was concluded on 20 August (Saturday) with two teams Bindass Cricket Club Uri and Sunrise Abu Bakar reaching to the final.
In the final match both the teams played well however the great efforts of Bindass Cricket Club Uri both on field as well as on batting registered their win in the final of first edition of BPL which held at Hyderbeigh playground.
In the tournament besides these two teams FCC Fatehpur also reached to number three in the points.
SSP Baramulla Rayees Bhat presented a token of respect to Mohammad Maksood Shiekh father of martyred constable Mudasir Ahmad Shiekh.
The trophy was presented by SSP Baramulla.
Speaking on the occasion SSP said that Mudasir made a supreme sacrifice for the nation, a real hero Mudasir should be emulated by the young generation of the country.
The tournament has witnessed an unprecedented response and enthusiasm in the youth over 24 teams participated in the tournament.
As per this correspondent, the final match witnessed huge gathering of spectators from across the Kashmir who came from different parts to support to their favorite players.
