Family seeks police action against ‘kidnapper’

Sopore, Dec 15: In a shocking incident, a teenage girl from Hanjipora Rakh Haigam in north Kashmir’s Sopore has gone missing from her work place three days ago, with the family of the girl seeking immediate and stern police action into the matter.
Family sources told Kashmir Despatch, a teenager girl ( name withheld) from Hanjipora Rakh Haigam went missing three days ago from Government Middle School, where she works as a cook. The family members of the girl alleged that despite approaching the concerned police post, no concrete action has been taken by the authorities into the matter.
The family members of the girl have also blamed a local youth for ‘kidnapping’ the girl. The said youth has been identified as Lateef Ahmad Dar, who as per the relatives of the girl is brother of a BJP activist who has recently contesting panchayat elections. Further, as per the family, the accused is married and is being allegedly ‘saved’ by BJP.
“The incident took place three days ago and police have failed to take any action despite knowing the name of the accused very well. We don’t know where to go, where to seek justice”, said one of the relatives of the missing girl.
Meanwhile, Sopore police in a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch have sought the help of general public to trace out the kidnapper.

“Regarding the matter case FIR No. 119/20 U/S 363 IPC stands registered in Police Station Tarzoo and investigation has been taken up. In case of any information/clue regarding kidnapper, kindly inform Sopore Police on 9596773011, 9596773024, 9596773025 and 7006707586”, reads the statement of Police media cell, Sopore.
