Gulmarg, May 17 : Despite recent concerns following the Pahalgam attack on tourists, Gulmarg is witnessing a renewed influx of visitors, bringing a wave of optimism to the local tourism industry.
Hoteliers, ponywalas, and other tourism stakeholders have expressed relief and happiness over the return of tourists. “It’s heartening to see visitors coming back. Tourism is our lifeline,” said a local hotel owner.
Tariq Ahmad, President of the Guides Association of Tangmarg and Gulmarg, told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the region is finally seeing some tourist footfall after a major setback caused by tensions with Pakistan.
“We wholeheartedly welcome these tourists,” he added.
The resurgence is being viewed as a positive sign, reflecting continued faith in Gulmarg’s safety and scenic charm. Locals have called for sustained peace to ensure uninterrupted tourist activity in the region. (KNS)
