SRINAGAR, July 9: In a major push to bolster digital inclusion and identity empowerment in the Union Territory, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Regional Office Chandigarh, has announced its active participation in the upcoming “Bharat Sanrachna – Jammu & Kashmir 2025.” Scheduled from July 10 to 12 at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, the national-level event is being organized under the guidance of Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Er. Gulam Ali Khatana.
The event is part of the Government of India’s ambitious “Amritkaal” roadmap, which outlines a 25-year vision leading to the 100th year of Indian independence. Under this initiative, infrastructure, innovation, and inclusion have been defined as critical pillars for national progress. UIDAI’s involvement underscores the pivotal role of Aadhaar in enabling seamless access to digital services across India, especially in remote and underserved regions like Jammu and Kashmir.
At the heart of UIDAI’s participation is its dedicated pavilion where citizens will be able to avail themselves of essential Aadhaar services. These include on-the-spot updates of Aadhaar details, mandatory biometric updates for children at the ages of 5 and 15, and information on obtaining secure PVC Aadhaar cards. The pavilion will also introduce citizens to vital digital tools such as the M-Aadhaar mobile app, the My-Aadhaar online portal, and the Bhuvan Aadhaar Seva Kendra locator, simplifying the process of accessing Aadhaar-related services.
In an added boost for young citizens, the pavilion will also facilitate registration and guidance for Bal Aadhaar (Child Aadhaar), aiming to enhance digital inclusion from an early age.
Officials from UIDAI Chandigarh highlighted that their participation in “Bharat Sanrachna” reflects the Authority’s firm commitment to making digital identity services easily accessible for every citizen. They encouraged families, youth, and students from Srinagar and neighbouring districts to visit the UIDAI Pavilion for on-ground assistance, guidance, and awareness about the benefits of Aadhaar.
“This initiative is a crucial step in ensuring that no individual is left behind in the digital transformation journey of the country,” said a UIDAI official. “Our aim is to bridge the digital divide and make Aadhaar a powerful tool of empowerment for every Indian.”
With Aadhaar serving as a cornerstone of the Digital India mission, UIDAI’s engagement at the Srinagar event marks a significant stride towards realising the vision of a digitally empowered and inclusive India.
