Rajouri, Jan 21: Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district have resealed a house in Badhal village after collecting fresh samples, intensifying the investigation into a mysterious tragedy that has claimed 17 lives over the past 1.5 months, as reported by KINS.
The decision to reseal the house was made under the guidance of Additional District Magistrate Kotranka, Dil Mir, following a detailed inspection by a high-level inter-ministerial team. The team carried out an extensive survey, collecting edible items and other samples for analysis.
“As you know, eight people in this house have lost their lives. The search was carried out to inspect the edible items. All the samples have been taken, and we have sealed the house again. This was routine; as of now, there is nothing new. The house was already sealed, and after collecting the samples, it has been resealed,” ADM Dil Mir stated.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising senior police officers and medical experts is also probing the deaths. The team is reviewing medical purchases, food consumption, and potential poisoning due to local rivalries. Initial investigations have ruled out common causes, adding to the enigma.
Home Minister Amit Shah is reportedly monitoring the investigation, while LG Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah are working with officials to ensure transparency in the probe.
The tragedy has left the local community in shock and fear. Villagers are demanding clarity and safety, while the government and local leaders have expressed condolences to the grieving families, urging patience as investigations continue.
This unprecedented series of deaths has drawn significant attention from local and central authorities. Investigators and medical experts are working tirelessly to uncover the truth behind this catastrophic event, with the public assured of transparency and swift action based on findings.
