University of Kashmir South Campus and Zaiba Aapa Institute Collaborate to Foster Inclusive Education

The University of Kashmir’s South Campus, in collaboration with the esteemed Zaiba Aapa Institute of Inclusive Education Kashmir, organized a noteworthy day-long conference on inclusive education.

The event aimed to address the challenges hindering inclusive education and explore effective strategies for its successful implementation, fostering an environment of inclusivity in the educational landscape.

The conference gathered numerous scholars and experts who presented their research papers, delving into the diverse challenges faced in promoting inclusive education.

They also shared valuable insights into models that have proven successful in bringing inclusivity to educational institutions. Among the distinguished individuals present were Dr. Riyaz Ahmad Ganiie, a renowned teacher from GMHSS Bijbehara, and Javed Ahmad Tak, both of whom served as special speakers, enriching the conference with their expertise.

Dr. Rayees Ahmad, Director of the University of Kashmir’s South Campus, addressed the audience with great enthusiasm, expressing his commitment to organizing more such programs in the future. Stressing the significance of inclusive education and its profound impact on society, he assured the audience of the university’s dedication to arranging frequent conferences and seminars on this pivotal subject.

One of the most heartwarming and inspiring segments of the conference was the participation of children from the Zaiba Aapa Institute of Inclusive Education Bijbehara.

These talented young individuals showcased their skills through educational and cultural activities, captivating the attendees. Their performances stood as a testament to the boundless potential inherent in every individual, regardless of any disabilities they may face.

The chief guest of the event, Rayees Mohammad Bhat, the DIG of South Kashmir Range, highlighted the importance of accessibility in providing equal opportunities to persons with disabilities, enabling their full participation in society. He emphasized the collective responsibility to empower individuals with disabilities, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the community.

In his speech, Rayees Mohammad Bhat commended the significant role played by the Zaiba Aapa Institute of Inclusive Education Bijbehara in nurturing the capabilities of children with disabilities. He also acknowledged the support extended by the DIG office and pledged to continue providing assistance and encouragement for their future endeavors.

Aftab Alam, a special abled student from South Campus, played an integral role in organizing this program, showcasing the determination and active involvement of special abled individuals in contributing to such impactful initiatives.

The conference truly embodied the spirit of collaboration, with students from various departments actively participating in organizing and moderating the program.

At the end of the event, they conveyed a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants, speakers, and attendees for their valuable contributions in making the conference an undeniable success.
