Baramulla, May 27: After recording a fresh COVID-19 case, authorities in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday declared a Limber village as a red zone to prevent the spread of the infection.
An official told Kashmir Despatch, Limber village in north Kashmir’s Baramulla has been declared as ‘red zone’ after an elderly man on Wednesday evening became a fresh victim of this deadly virus.
SDM Uri talking with Kashmir Despatch said, around 20 persons were kept under administrative quarantine who had come in close contact with the victim, he said we are also looking other persons whom he may have contacted.
Earlier, on Wednesday Block Medical Officer Boniyar Dr Parvaiz Masoodi confirmed to this newspaper about the elderly man who tested positive for COVID-19.
Pertinently, A 55-year-old man from Khanpora area of Baramulla district on Thursday became the latest victim of a novel coronavirus in Kashmir Valley. His death has taken the fatality count due to the deadly disease to 27 in Jammu and Kashmir.
