Govt appoints IO over lapses; report in 1 month

SRINAGAR, Aug 24: The government has appointed an inquiry officer to conduct an in-depth inquiry over the lapses and violation of SBM guidelines under IHHL component in three municipal committees of Kashmir viz MC Kulgam, MC Pahalgam and MC Aishmuqam.
As per the order issued by Dheeraj Gupta, Principal Secretary to Government, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, IRS, VC J&K Lake conservation and Management Authority has been appointed as inquiry officer and directed him to submit report within one month.
“In terms of Rule 33(4) of Jammu and Kashmir Classification Control and Appeal Rules, 1956, sanction is hereby accorded to the appointment of Dr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat, IRS, Vice Chairman, J&K Lake Conservation and Management Authority, as an Inquiry Officer to conduct an in-depth inquiry into the matter and pinpoint the staff involved in three Municipal Council/Committees of Kashmir Division viz. Municipal Council, Kulgam, Municipal Committee, Pahalgam and Municipal Committee, Aishmuqam for their lapses and violating the scheme guidelines of SBM under IHHL component,” reads the order.
“Further, it is ordered that Mr. Rafeeq Ahmad, JKAS, Deputy Director (Adm). Directorate of Urban Local Bodies, Kashmir is appointed as Presenting Officer in the case and the Inquiry Officer shall submit the report within a period of one month, from the date of issuance of the order,” the order states.
