Baramulla, Sep 11 : The Jamaat-e-Islami Independent candidate for the Baramulla assembly seat said that the changing situation in Kashmir has set a good stage in the political arena, and now we are all fighting the election without any fear.
Talking exclusively with Kashmir Despatch, JEI independent candidate Abdul Reham Shala, after filing the nomination form, said that the situation in Kashmir has now changed, and without any fear, we are all contesting this election, which is truly good for Kashmir.
He said that this is not the first time Jamaat-e-Islami is participating in the electoral process, as Jamaat had contested many elections in the past as well. Keeping the current changing scenario in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, we are all coming forward to participate in this assembly election, though our ban was not lifted, and we are fighting as independents.
Reacting to former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s statement, in which she said that the real Jamaat-e-Islami members are behind the jails, Reham said that this is an irresponsible statement and it does not align with the Jamaat in any way.
