In a bid to enhance the participation of youth in ‘Create in India Challenge’ competitions, a part of the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES), the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in collaboration with Dancing Atoms, held a workshop for students in the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University in the city today.
Addressing the workshop called the “Unlocking: Storytelling Workshop”, the acclaimed writer-director and the director of Dancing atoms, a visual animation studio, Ms. Saraswathi Buyyala said that the students need to craft stories that resonate with audiences and industry professionals. Only by unleashing their inner storyteller they would be able to ignite India’s creative future, she said. The director of Dancing atoms underlined the importance of creating impactful presentations which would lead to securing of funding and partnerships. She also urged the students to take part in the ‘Create in India Challenge’ competitions which are being held as part of WAVES, the international summit on media and entertainment sectors, which is to be held later this year.
Workshop in JNAFAU
The Create in India Challenge (CIC) has witnessed an overwhelming response from aspiring and professional creators from India and across the globe. With over 70,000 registrations and counting, the challenge has captured the imagination of individuals and communities from diverse backgrounds, fostering a holistic ecosystem for vibrant creativity and innovation. A total of 31 challenges, handpicked and curated, span a wide range of creative domains of music, advertising, gaming, animation, VFX, filmmaking, comics, XR/VR, digital, and social media. Currently, 25 exciting challenges are still open for participation from a wide range of participants, ranging from amateur creators to professionals. This initiative aims to empower creators from all over the country and showcase the rich creative talent pool that exists in India. CIC has witnessed participation from all 28 states and 8 union territories.
These challenges follow Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s mantra of ‘Make in India, Make for the World’. 22 out of 31 challenges are open for international participation which not only strengthens India’s presence on the global stage but also highlights the vast pool of capable talent available in India. With an outreach in more than 35 countries, the initiative has positioned India as a global hub for creative excellence and fostering international collaborations. The “Create in India” Challenge Season 1 continues to inspire and empower creators, offering a unique opportunity to showcase their talent, gain recognition, and contribute to the nation’s creative landscape.
