Workshop on NDPS Act Held at DPL Baramulla with Narcotics Control Bureau

A two-day workshop on the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and its case management was held at DPL Baramulla in association with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), J&K.

The workshop aimed to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the provisions, enforcement mechanisms, and practical applications of the NDPS Act.

The workshop was inaugurated by Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Kashmir Range, Shri Maqsood-Ul-Zaman, IPS. It saw participation from government organizations (GOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and prosecuting officers from all districts in the North Kashmir Range (NKR). Proceedings were broadcast via video conferencing for outstation Senior Superintendents of Police (SSsP) in the range.

DIG NKR emphasized the importance of gathering to deepen understanding of challenges, solutions, and strategies in addressing drug abuse, trafficking, and related offenses. He noted that the workshop arrives at a critical time, allowing participants to engage with experts, share insights, and enhance their collective ability to combat the evolving drug crisis. Through interactive discussions and case studies, the goal is to equip all participants with knowledge, tools, and strategies for their shared mission.

DIG NKR Baramulla also highlighted the importance of collaboration with agencies, legal practitioners, policymakers, and social workers in the fight against drug-related issues, which have devastated families and shattered futures. He encouraged participants to ask questions and share their experiences, stressing that diverse thoughts and experiences are essential for the success of the training program.

In conclusion, DIG NKR Baramulla expressed heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished speakers from the NCB and all participants for their dedication to combating narcotics abuse and trafficking. He closed the program with a message to move forward together with renewed vigor, stronger partnerships, and a commitment to creating a safer and healthier future for all.
