Zaloora Murder Case: Police Statement

Police in north Kashmir’s Sopore claimed to have solved a Zaloora murder case and arrested two individuals in this case.

In a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch Police, it said, CASE FIR NO. 46/2023 U/S 302 IPC On 01/12/2023, a complaint was lodged by one lady, namely Shaista R/o Zaloora, who was accompanied by some neighbors and relatives in Ps Bomai, that during the intervening night, her husband, namely Riyaz Ahmad Mir R/o Zaloora, went outside of his house and didn’t return till morning.

After receiving the complaint, police went to the spot for verification.

Police, during the search, along with locals, found a dead body.
Riyaz Ah Mir was in the trench of his house, which was covered with a lid.

Police retrieved the dead body from the trench on the spot. After examining the body, they found that it was a murder, and the case was reopened, and subsequently, medical formalities were completed.

During the investigation, some suspects were called for questioning, including their wives.
of deceased Shaista, who lodged a missing complaint related to his husband.

During the questioning, Shaista, the wife of the deceased, confessed that she, along with her boyfriend, namely Waseem Akram Lone S/0 Farooq Ah Lone R/O Tujjer, killed her husband during the night and concealed his dead body in the trench.

After confession, accused Waseem Akram, who also confessed his crime, and the rope used in committing the crime were also recovered.

Further investigation is going on, as the statement further reads.
