2 militants slain in overnight Shopian Gunfight

Shopian, Oct 07 : Two militants were slain in an overnight gunfight in south Kashmir’s Shopain District.
An official informed Kashmir Despatch that two militants have been killed in an ongoing gunfight at Sugan area of Zainapora Shopian. He said searches are underway.
The officer further added that militants refused to surrender.
Earlier on Tuesday evening a joint team of Army’s 44 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the area following inputs about the presence of some militants.
As search party encircled the target house the hiding militants fired upon them thus triggering a gunfight.
Pertinently, On late Tuesday evening a militant and police constable were killed when militants attacked the house of a BJP worker in Nunar area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
SSP Ganderbal Khalil Poswal in a tweet also confirmed the killing of police constable and Identified him as Mohammad Altaf.
SSP Identified slain militant as Shabir Ahmad a resident of Awantipora. He said the slain was reportedly part of TRF militant outfit.
