SRINAGAR, JUNE 11: Stressing for collective measures by all law enforcing agencies, the Director General of Police, Mr. K. Rajendra Kumar has asked the Police officers and jawans to brace up in the public service wholeheartedly and safeguard the interests of peace loving messes.
Mr. Rajendra was on his day long visit to the North Kashmir areas including Kupwara, Handwara, Sopore and Baramulla. The visit was aimed to take stock of the security scenario in North Kashmir. Besides addressing Police Durbar at Kupwara and Baramulla, he chaired meetings of Senior Police Officers to discuss various measures to be taken for ensuring peace and order in the districts. The recent subversive incidents by anti social elements to hamper the normal life of the people also came under discussion during the meetings.
During the meetings, DGP sought reports with regard to overall security scenario, law and order, anti-militancy operations and crime status in the Range. Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Kashmir, Mr Garib Dass apprised the DGP about the measures put in place to keep the law and order maintained. He said that innovative steps were taken to avert the ill-designs of bad elements. He said that the steps have brought good results and a sense of security has been maintained among the minds of people.
Mr. Rajendra stressed upon the officers to maintain close coordination between different agencies to ensure law and order in their respective jurisdictions. He said that restoration needs to be stepped up by taking joint efforts by all units and ranks to provide better police service to the people. He said that continuous vigil needs to be maintained on the activities of anti social elements who are bent upon to hamper the developmental activities. He reiterated that our fight against terrorism would continue and JKP is committed to safeguard the people and their property.
Addressing jawans and officers at DPL Kupwara, the DGP asked to work with dedication and provide selfless service to the people. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police is for the service of the people and we have to ensure safety of all people and provide justice to the needy. He said that people’s cooperation in our fight against terrorism has been yielding good results and public support in our fight against social evils of crimes is also imperative which needs to be strengthened by addressing the problems of the people.
Mr. Rajendra asked for behavioral change and latest techniques to be adopted for better policing, he said that we have to bring timely changes in our attitude especially at thana level and deliver timely justice. He said that the organization is focusing on welfare of its personnel and some fruitful decisions are taken in the Central Welfare Board meeting. Special focus is being paid to enhance educational facilities and health care for Jammu and Kashmir Police and their families, he added.
Among others the meeting and darbar was attended by Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, S.J.M Gillani, SsP, Suhail Munawar Mir, Ghulam Jeelani, Rahul Malik and Abdul Qayoom, and other police officers.
