Jammu, Apr 24 : There was a clear difference visible in the campaigning of two national parties Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and Congress in the Jammu Parliamentary constituency, as the saffron party was marred by the internal rift among leaders whereas the oldest political party of India somehow presented a united face.

Though most of the top BJP leadership of Jammu and Kashmir had put their weight behind Jugal Kishore Sharma, the saffron party’s candidate for Jammu Lok Sabha seat, few influential and top leaders seem to be working against him.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the campaigning for the Jammu Lok Sabha seat ended this evening and the polling will be held on Friday.

Sources told KNO that the recent example of this was visible with Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS), traditionally BJP supporters, held a protest in Jammu against union minister and Gujarat BJP leader Purshottam Rupala who had given a controversial statement, for which he has tendered unconditional apology. There are allegations that a senior BJP leader, who had met the leaders of YRS, was behind all this.

“The YRS leaders had warned that they will not support BJP on Jammu Lok Sabha seat and the threat of these leaders is being attributed to one senior leader of BJP, against whom the party leadership is aware and they have taken cognizance of the matter,” the source added.

On the other hand, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) leaders including its president Vikar Rasool Wani and others have done hectic campaigning for their candidate Raman Bhalla and have reached to every corner of the constituency to seek votes for the party’s candidate. Their campaigning has made the competition tough and people believe that if people don’t vote on the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it will be difficult for Jugal Kishore Sharma to win.

Now, all eyes will be on April 26 when people will be coming out to vote to elect their leader who will represent them in the Parliament—(KNO)
