SRINAGAR, JUNE 30:- Stressing upon the officers and field functionaries of Rural Development Department (RDD) to perform duties with commitment and missionary zeal, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr. Abdul Haq, Monday asked officers to ensure successful implementation of all developmental schemes of the Department.
The Minister said this while chairing a high level meeting convened here today to review the functioning of Rural Development Department.
Among others, the meeting was attended by the Secretary RDD & PRI, Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Shah, Director Rural Development, Kashmir, Mr. Tasaduq Jeelani, ADDCs and ACDs of Kashmir province.
On the occasion, Rs 200 crore were released for implementation of MGNERGA schemes to give impetus to the development and employment intensive schemes in rural areas.
The Minister said that all block offices are being equipped with VSAT facility to ensure efficient and transparent functioning of Rural Development Department (RDD).
Mr Haq urged officers to ensure complete coordination within all the wings of the department and share best practices while planning and implementing developmental schemes so that people benefit from such schemes.
The meeting also deliberated on Clean, Green and Pollution free Jammu and Kashmir Mission which is being launched soon.
The Minister said Rural Development Department is launching a special awareness campaign across the State about the benefits of a healthy and hygienic environment.
