The Government Wednesday banned the seminar of Hurriyat Conference (G) and the police arrested its top leaders, including Tehreek-e-Hurriyat General Secretary Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai on the Airport road in Srinagar outskirts. Hurriyat (G) had decided to hold a seminar in a local hotel, but Hurriyat spokesman said that the hotel management did not provide them space. “Police did not allow the hotel management to provide space for our seminar,” Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar said. Akbar said that later the seminar venue was shifted to Hyderpora office of Hurriyat, however police did not allow any participants to reach there. “Police arrested Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai on way to Hyderpora and they have detained all those who are in the Hurriyat office,” Akbar said, strongly condemning the ban.
