Old Famous Baramulla Shrine in Shambles

Baramulla : An old famous Shrine Syed Janbaz e Wali R. A at Khanpora area of Baramulla is in complete shambles.

Locals said that Waqf Board have completely failed to renovate or to reconstruct this old Shrine, According to them the condition of this old Shrine is deteriorating with each passing day but sad part is local administration especially Waqf Board have completely ignored this Shrine.

Locals alleged that soon after this old famous Shrine was handed over to the Waqf Board by the state government, the condition of the Shrine deteriorated further. The walls of the Shrine have developed several cracks due to seeping of water during rains the locals added.

They said during Ramazan condition was much worst when number of rats were seen every corner of this old Shrine which affects the People’s movement.

Auqaaf Committee Khanpora told Kashmir Despatch that despite getting huge amount from devotees on the occasion of Urs of Hazart Janbaz e Wali R. A and also on daily based but the Waqf Board hasn’t spend a singly penny for the restoration and for the development of this famous Shrine.

Group of senior citizens said that we apprised Waqf Board about the worsening condition of the Shrine several times, but the officials turned deaf ears to our repeated please.

They adding the concerned officials in the local administration had also failed to take cognizance about the worst condition of the old Baramulla Shrine.

Meanwhile they again appealed to the authorities of Waqf Board and local administration to look into the issue and to redress this genuine demand so that devotees will not face any problem.
