250-300 militants across LoC ready to infiltrate: Army
Srinagar, Oct 21 : General Officer Commanding Counter Insurgency Force (Kilo) Major General HS Sahi Wednesday said that 250-300 militants are waiting to infiltrate from their launching pads across the Line of Control (LoC).
Sahi said that security was tightened after input that more than 250 militants are waiting at launching pads across the Line of Control are looking to infiltrate into this part of Kashmir.
“Around 250-300 militants are on toes to infiltrate into this part of Kashmir. The weather is still feasible but I want to assure that Army wouldn’t allow them to cross the line”, he said.
Defense experts had warned that in next two weeks, there may be a rise in infiltration bids and ceasefire violations.
“Around 30 militants have managed to infiltrate this year while the number was 130 last year. With concrete mechanism in place, we managed to bring down the number to a large extent. The borders are completely sealed by security forces”, Army officer added. (KNS)
