Policemen behaves like “ Police Wala Gunda” in Pahalgam

Misbehaves with locals, drivers and Shopkeepers

Pahalgam, Oct 17: The locals and driver association Pahalgam has submitted a written complaint to Deputy Commissioner Anantnag against the two policemen for misbehaving and continuous harassment of the locals.


The complaint mentions that Constable Mushtaq Ahmad with belt No-1210/A and Head Constable Mohammad Younis with Belt No-311/A posted at police station Pahalgam are misbehaving with the locals as well as with members of drivers association.


Showkat Ah, one of the members of Tourist Drivers Association said, “ Couple of times , these two policemen have beaten drivers and locals very ruthlessly”.


Mentioning the recent incident that took place on Saturday morning in which the duo dragged the Nadeem Ah and started beating him mercilessly.
The medical documents of the victim shows that he has suffered nasal injury and doctors have advised him to undergo for necessary medical examinations in case of fracture.


The complaint adds that the duo mentioned in the complaint are posted at same location from last 15 years without a single transfer.


Earlier to this complaint , locals have already submitted a complaint but no action has been taken yet by the concerned authorities.


It is pertinent to mention that Pahalgam is worldwide famous tourist destination and harassment to locals and transporters can vitiate the peaceful atmosphere of the area.
Drivers association along with locals have threatened the agitation if the action isn’t initiated against the accused. (CNS)
