November 09: Police in Awantipora arrested three persons accused of murdering a woman.
On November 03, Police was informed about a lady Nusrat Jan aged about 35 years wife of Mehrajudin resident of Tral has been brought to Sub District hospital Tral for the treatment of burn injuries and was subsequently referred to SMHS Hospital for the treatment of her injuries.
During the course of investigation, as deposed by lady in her statement, officers learnt that the husband and In-Laws of the lady were responsible for the burn and other injuries of the lady. Today the lady succumbed to her injuries at SMHS Hospital. After completing of medico-legal formalities, the dead body of the lady was handed over to the relatives for last rites.
A case under relevant sections of law stands registered in this regard. Police have arrested the husband, Mother-in-Law and Brother-in-Law of the lady. Officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this crime. Further investigation in the matter is in progress.
