Allegations are baseless: Principal GMC Baramulla

BARAMULLA: Outsourced employees hired through Tiranga Security and Manpower in 2019 from Baramulla on Thursday alleged that they have not been paid their salary by the administration for the last 16 months.
Shabeena (name changed), a resident of Srinagar told Kashmir Despatch that she travels to Baramulla every day to attend her duty but she has been denied salary by the concerned authorities. She added that one more female along with her has been disengaged from the work without any prior notice.
“Our biometric attendance has been cancelled and we asked about this, the authorities said that we have been disengaged from our service without any explanation,” she alleged.
She further said that she along with another colleague is going through mental harassment and misbehaviour from a Personal Assistant (PA). “We were pushed by the security guard; we don’t come here to get humiliated. We just want our pending salary to be released from the past 16 months,” she alleged.
There are two hundred outsourced employees who are also suffering due to non-payment of salaries on time. “They were provided two months’ salary after 15 months of employment but we two were denied even those two months”, she added.
She alleged that there are several other employees who didn’t receive their salary, but they are scared to come forward to raise their voices against this injustice.
Principal Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla, Dr DR. (Prof.) Ruby Reshi when contacted by Kashmir Despatch said, “The allegations made by those people are baseless. They do not come to duty. They are chronic absentees and I have every right to make decisions that those who are not giving their duties are discontinued.
When asked that the employees have alleged that they have not received any notification of termination, Dr Ruby said that there is nothing sort of that. Those people are not well mannered.
