2 drug peddlers held in Sopore, say police

Sopore : Police in north Kashmir’s Sopore town on Saturday arrested two more drug peddlers in the town.

A Police spokesman said Police has arrested two notorious drug peddlers and recovered fifteen kilograms of contraband substance from their possession.

He said a police party of Police Station Tarzoo headed by SHO Police Station Tarzoo Insp. Imtiaz Ahmad, under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Furqan Qadir-JKPS established naka at Amargrah crossing, and a load carrier bearing registration number JK05D 2486 was intercepted.

During checking police party was able to recover fifteen kilograms of Poppy Straw and the accused were identified as Barkat Ahmad Dar S/O Abdul Ahad Dar and Aqib Ahmad Kuloo S/O Nazir Ahmad Kuloo both the residents of Sher Colony B Sopore.

Involved accused have been arrested and shifted to Police Station for police custody.

Accordingly, case vide FIR No. 81/2022 under sections 8/15, 29 of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Tarzoo and further investigation has been initiated.
