2 JeM militants held in Kupwara

Kupwara, Sep 10: Kupwara police on Thursday claimed to have arrested two Jaish-e-Mohammad militants .
In a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch police said two local militants were apprehended during naka besides arms and ammunition some cash were also recovered from them.
Statement reads Kupwara Police received a specific input that two JeM militants belonging to Sopore area are likely to visit Kupwara to conduct militant activities and recruit youth in their ranks.
Acting upon the said input, Kupwara Police and Army 47 RR established nakas at different locations in the district and intercepted a car Eon bearing registration no. JK05G-0872 near FCI Godown at Drugmullah, Kupwara.
Following two militants namely, Waseem Irshad Gabroo son of Irshad Ahmed Gabroo of Takiyabal, Arampora, Sopore
Age 23yrs and Mehraraj Ud Din Wani Son of Ghulam Din Wani of Badshah Masjid, Sopore Age 21 yrs were apprehended from the car.
Upon a thorough search of the vehicle, following incriminating material was recovered from them AK 47 0, AK mag 0, Grenades….02, AK rounds 30
Cash INR 7 Lacs.
In this regard FIR no. 233 u/s Indian Arms 7/25 Act, and Ss. 13,18, 19, 39 UAPA has been registered at PS Kupwara and investigation set into motion.
