Sopore: A new case of COVID-19 was reported in Sopore town on Wednesday. A 20-year-old with physical contact has been tested positive for the disease.


Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said with this fresh case the number of positive cases in the town rose to 15 Including one death.


A health official also confirmed to this newspaper about the new case who reported positive for this deadly virus in town and said the victim is a resident of Wagub, had come in close contact with the earlier diagnosed positive. The officer said we have started tracing out his contacts.


Earlier this week 51 suspected COVID-19 cases were tested negative which brought a sigh of relief among Soporians.


The total number of positive cases in J&K now stands at 405.
