To increase the frequency of flights and for connecting Jammu Kashmir state internationally through air connectivity the secretary Tourism Farooq A shah had a thread bear discussions and deliberations Sunday in Srinagar international convention center SKICC, this was the follow up meeting after CM Mufti Mohammad Syed demanded for the same and later MP and President people’s democratic party Mehbooba Mufti met the Union Tourism and aviation Minister in new Delhi. Farooq A shah who was accompanied by travel trade fraternity and officials of directorate Tourism Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh the raised the important issues with Ashwani Lohani CMD, regarding the daily flights from Jammu and Srinagar to Leh and vice versa and urged the CMD air India to increase the frequency of flights on Delhi-Jammu, Delhi-Srinagar and Jammu-Srinagar air routes as well with special attractive plans and prices to boost the winter and summer tourism in the Himalayan state. The secretary explained the CMD air India about its historical role in promoting Jammu Kashmir as one of the best tourist destination in and outside the country as it was the Indian airlines which primarily was the only air link between Kashmir and rest of the country, the secretary and the travel trade echoed the demand to connect Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh with direct international flights to Jeddah, Dubai via Amritsar and Srinagar Riyadh flights as the Srinagar airport being an international one .The secretary urged the CMD to make hotel centaur again an attractive lodging facility by ensuring its reapirment and upgradation as the said hotel being one of the best one location wise which can help in promoting conference and Golf tourism in a big way and the centaur lake view hotel can turn again a cash cow for the Air India if maintained with quality and standard. The CMD assured the secretary tourism to do all possible to help the tourism sector of JK state by doing a serious follow up on the issues and concerns raised in the said meeting.
