A boy form Anantnag has topped the Class 10 results in the Valley by scoring 99.6 per cent marks in the annual session of the examination, the results of which were declared on Monday evening. Tabish Manzoor Khan of Radiant Public School, Anantnag, has topped the results by scoring 498 marks out of a total of 500. The second and third positions were also held by two girls, Aneesa Haleen of Mallinson Girls School, and Hiba Intikhab of Shah-e-Hamdan Memorial school of Shopian district. The two brilliant students have scored 491 and 490 marks respectively out of the 500. The overall percentage of students who have passed the exams stand at 65.27, of which pass percentage of boys is 67.28 and girls pass percentage is 63.04. Again, the government schools have lagged behind private schools in the results. 50.46 per cent students of government schools have qualified the examinations, while 78.91 percent of students in private schools have passed. “14,716 have been declared successful out of a total of 29,162 students of government schools who had appeared in the examination, while 24,981 students out of 31657of private schools have qualified for the next class,” a board official said. While 2296 scored A1 grade, 5186 A2, 6036 B1, 7005 B2, 8176 C1, 6013 C2 and 741D. In English 60608 appeared and 70.63 per cent students have qualified; in Mathematics out of 60099, 65.18 per cent students have qualified; of 357 students in Hindi 92.86 per cent students passed; in Urdu 81.73 percent students passed out of 59,693; in Science 60336, 74.66 per cent students passed; in Social Science 60224, 73.89 per cent students passed In the language subjects, 92.60 per cent students have passed in Arabic out of 1054; in Kashmiri, only 39 students have passed and all of them have passed. In Computer Science out of 42 students, 60 per cent students have qualified.
