Peoples Democratic Party legislator from Pulwama Assembly segment, Mohammad Khalil Bandh was put under house arrest by police hours before he was to visit the bereaved families of the students killed in Sunday’s forces firing in Kakapora area. “I was to leave for Pulwama to offer condolence with the families of the students in Lelhar and Ratnipora villages, who were killed by security forces on Sunday in Kakapora area, but police put me under house arrest in the morning at my residence in Tulsibagh here,” Bandh told KNS. The MLA said he had planned to visit the bereaved families and express solidarity with them. “SDPO Shaheed Gunj and SHO Shergari informed me that I have been placed under house arrest. Heavy contingent of police is around my house and are not allowing me to leave for Pulwama,” the MLA told KNS.
