Srinagar |May 12 : Minister for Rural Development, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq Thursday made a surprise visit to various offices in Sopore town to check the functioning and punctuality of the employees in the offices.
The Minister visited Municipal Office and BDO’s Office Sopore and checked the functioning of these offices. He found several employees absent and directed Deputy Commissioner Baramulla to enquire about their absence and take action against them.
The Minister said the Government is committed to provide good governance to the people of the State and will not tolerate any leniency in the discharge of duties by the government officials and will not tolerate absenteeism in the offices.
He said to ensure punctuality in government offices, Government has introduced biometric attendance system which will bring in punctuality in the offices.
Abdul Haq took note of the poor sanitary situation in the town and directed the officials for proper disposal of the garbage. He asked the district administration to ensure proper cleanliness in the town and make a comprehensive plan for disposal of solid waste on scientific lines.
