Baramulla : On International Elderly Day (October 1) on Monday, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)-53 Battalion conducted a programme at North Kashmir’s Border town for old aged persons in order to send a message among youth of the nation to respect the elderly people.
As a part of humanitarian approach and social responsibilities and to build harmony and rapport, 53 Bn CRPF, came up with an unique initiative for old aged persons in North Kashmir’s Border town on Monday and gifted them a traditional Kashmiri Pheran as a token of love to Old aged persons.
During the programme CRPF 53 BN provided healthcare services to 120 patients suffering from communicable, skin and water borne disease and cold injuries,during the camp around 120 senior citizens were treated and given free medicines.
Commandent of 53 Bn CRPF Vinay Kumar Tiwari said that it’s duty of all of us to take care of our elderly people and seek guidance from them as they have enough experience of life and follow the path of wisdom.
He said that we should acknowledge the long term contribution to the society by older people, and to ensure that we are doing our best to give something back to them. With rising effect of Technology today the older generations are feeling alienated. Young boys and girls in today’s world are having no or less time for the older generations. He said that Harmony, brotherhood, CO-operation is decaying because of this, young generations are taking ectreme steps in case of stress or little pressure, he said that older generations are always proved a ray of light to show a path to the society.
He said to felicitate and honor distinguished Senior Citizens and also to create awareness on how to respond to the vast opportunities and challenges in the 21st Century while promoting development of the society for all ages will be continue from 53 BN CRPF especially for Border areas where these camps are need of an hour.
Meanwhile 53 CRPF BN while expressed happiness to the elders who turned up for the programme in large numbers making the camp a huge success.
The function was graced by SDM Uri, GM NHPC Uri, JKP officials, CISF officials other dignitries were present on the occasion.
On the closing of function locals were happy and expressed gratitude to the 53 BN CRPF for organizing the camps.
