21.7 million tourists visited UT in 2023 ; LG Manoj Sinha

Srinagar, Feb 13 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha of Jammu and Kashmir announced on Tuesday that the number of tourists visiting the UT in 2023 had reached a record-breaking level.

Speaking to the media at an event in New Delhi, LG Manoj Sinha stated that the tourist footfall in 2023 exceeded previous years. He revealed that a total of 21.7 million tourists visited the union territory.

He also mentioned that two years ago, the number of tourists visiting the UT was 18.7 million, indicating a significant increase in the tourism sector.

The LG highlighted a 2.5 percent increase in the number of foreign tourists after the G-20 summit held in Kashmir.

He further emphasized that there has been remarkable development and improvement in the overall situation in the union territory over the past four years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. (KS)
