3 militants killed, 9 hybird held, 6 OGW module busted in Bandipora this year sofar : Police

Bandipora : Police in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday said sofar in this year three militants have been killed, 9 hybird militants held besides six OGW module have been busted in the district.

A police statement reads, Intervening night of 11-12/August/2022. A non-local labourer namely Amrez Masoori R/O Bihar was shot dead by some unknown terrorists in Sadunara.

Formal case was registered under relevant provisions of law and investigation was set into motion.

During the course of investigation various suspects were called and questioned and technical assistance was also brought into use and eventually it was found that three local terrorists namely Waseem Akram Yawar Reyaz and Muzamil Sheikh all residents of Sadunara were in touch with an LET handler @Baber who is operating from Pakistan.

Baber had instructed them to kill any non-local labourer to terrorize the non-locals to leave the valley and carry out more such strikes in future to revive the local militancy in Bandipora.

As on date there is no local militant active in District Bandipora.

During the investigation, the weapon of offense, 01 pistol alongwith a magazine and 04 live rounds which were concealed by these terrorists, have been recovered in the case.

So far, during this year District Police Bandipora alongwith security forces have been successful in eliminating three terrorists (01 LT and 02 FTs),

09 hybrid terrorists have been arrested so far and 06 OGW modules have been busted in the district.

Besides counter insurgency operations, acting tough against drug menance, Bandipora police has registered 22 cases during the current year so far, in which huge quantity of norcotics has been seized and 36 people have been arrested so far. Among them 02 have been booked under PSA, and we are looking forward to book more drug peddlers under PSA.

Further, do carb decal mining in the entire district, during the current year, Bandipora police has registered 16 cases 20 far is-which 52 07 vehicles have been seized and 39 persons have been arrested.
