3 women injured in bear attack in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, August 24: At least three women on Monday were injured after a bear attacked them in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said that a women flock were mauled by a wild bear near powerhouse in Ganderbal when they were in their orchards.


In the attack, at least three women sustained injuries and were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.


A police officer told Kashmir Despatch that all the injured were rushed to the hospital where their condition is said to be stable. The officer identified as Shaheena Begum(46), wife of Reyaz Ahmad Mir, Jabeena Begum (34), wife of Mehraj-ud-din Rather, and Nusrat Jan(19), daughter of Nazir Ahmad Mir, all residents of Wani Mohalla Kangan.
