4 drug peddlers booked under PSA in Sopore

Sopore, April 27 ; In a resolute move against drug dealers plaguing the northern town of Sopore, police have taken decisive action by invoking the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) against four notorious drug peddlers with a history of drug trafficking across various areas of Sopore.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that Sopore Police has booked four notorious drug smugglers under the PIT-NDPS Act after receiving a formal detention order from the competent authority.

The official said that four drug smugglers identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Khan son of Abdul Rashid Khan of Model Town C Sopore, Waseem Ahmad Hajam son of Mohammad Akbar Hajam of Dooru Peer Mohalla and
Shahbaz Ahmad Dangroo son of Ghulam Mohi ud Din Dangroo of Machipora Bomai Sopore, Sharafatullah Shah son of Muzaffar Ahmad Shah of Shalpora Sopore A/P Shalimar Colony Sopore.

The official said they have been taken into custody and are now being held in the Central Jail Kot-Balwal, Jammu.
