A senior Police officer said that four notorious drug peddlers have been booked under the PSA and have been lodged at Kot-Balwal Jail in Jammu.

He said that the accused were promoting drug abuse by supplying drugs to local youth in and around the Sopore town and were involved in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) cases.

The official identified the detainee as Aadil Sultan Malla son of Muhammad Sultan Malla, a resident of Sheikh Sahib Chinkipora Sopore, Aadil Ashraf Khan son of Muhammad Ashraf Khan of Pethseer Sopore, Suhail Ahmad Ganie son of Abdul Khaliq Ganie of Model Town Sopore and Bilal Ahmad Ganie son of Ghulam Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Hathishah Sopore.

“In addition to the four PSA detainees more than half a dozen accused persons were booked under the Public Safety Act and a total number of 50 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) cases have been registered since January this year,” the official added.
