6 more die of COVID in JK

Srinagar, Oct 17 : Jammu and Kashmir Saturday  recorded six Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1372 in the Union Territory while as 610 positive cases were reported pushing the J&K tally to 87,364.

Of the total 87,364 cases, 52,311 are from Kashmir and 35,053 from Jammu division. Officials told that among 610 new cases, 363 belong to Kashmir division while as 247 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 52,311 including 46,227 recoveries and 918 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 35,053 including 31,061 recoveries and 454 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 8,704 including 5,166 from Kashmir division and 3,538 from Jammu division.

With 809 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 77,288 which is 88.46 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 129 from Srinagar, 32 from Budgam, 58 from Baramulla, 28 from Pulwama,  25 from Kupwara, 19 from Anantnag, 36 from Bandipora, 24 from Ganderbal, 06 from Kulgam and 06 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 247 from Jammu division include 116 from Jammu, 16 from Rajouri, 10 from Udhampur, 17 from Doda, 08 from Kuthua, 11 from Poonch, 08 from Samba, 38 from Kishtiwar, 19 from Ramban and 04 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours, six persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include two from Kashmir division and four from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include one each from Baramulla and Pulwama in Kashmir division while as four deaths from Jammu division include three from Kishtiwar and one from Doda.

As per officials figures, 17,530 positive cases including 328 deaths and 15,396 recoveries are from Srinagar, 5,614 including 90 deaths and 5,066 recoveries are from Budgam, 5,163 including 3,764 recoveries and 135 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,398 including 4,038 recoveries and 76 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,044 including 71 deaths and 3,689 recoveries are from Kupwara, 3,924 including 3,541 recoveries and 70 deaths are from Anantnag, 3,831 cases including 3,488 and 42 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,301 including 2,995 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,388 including 2,254 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,118 including 1,996 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 15,987 including 14,601 recoveries and 236 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,111 including 2,674 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,561 including 2,390 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,490 including 2,160 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Doda, 2,326 including 2,235 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,125 including 1,490 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,061 including 1,612 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Samba, 1,698 including  1,468 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,504 including 1,423 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Ramban and 1,190 including 1,008 recoveries and 07 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 626,061 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 25,203 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 8,704 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 540,519 persons have completed surveillance period and 50,263 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,978,626 samples are available. Out of 1,978,626 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,891,262 while 87,364 have tested positive, among them 8,704 are active, 77,288 persons have recovered and 1,372 persons have died.
