67 Year-old man survives near-fatal heart attack at North End Hospital

Baramulla, Oct 25: A 67-year-old man found himself battling for his life after experiencing chest pain and episodes of dizziness for three harrowing hours.

The urgency of the situation became evident upon his arrival at the Emergency Room (ER) of North End Hospital in Baramulla where a 12-lead ECG was immediately performed.

“The results sent shockwaves through the medical team, revealing an Inferior wall Myocardial Infarction (MI),” the hospital handout reads.

It reads that with no time to lose, the medical staff sprang into action, adhering to a strict door to needle time protocol.

“The patient was swiftly transferred to the Cath lab for an emergency angiography. The procedure uncovered the extensive involvement of major vessels of the heart, with this dire episode attributed to a staggering 100 percent blockage in the Right coronary artery,” the hospital handout reads

” The efforts of the medical team, a relentless resuscitation battle ensued, culminating in the achievement of a TIMI 3 flow after stenting,” the handout reads.

The patient was kept under CCU for 72 hours & discharged with less ailing heart.

“Against all odds, he emerged with a heart less ailing, ready to take on life once more,” it reads.
