Pattan: The inauguration match of 6th Edition of GMW Knockout football tournament
was played between Real kashmir Fc (R) and Arco Fc Sopore at sports field of chanderhama pattan of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In the innuaguration match Real Kashmir FC (R) down Arco FC Sopore by 2-0 and was witnessed by thousands of spectators from different vicinity of Pattan and other areas of north Kashmir, who appreciated the players throughout the match.
From the outset of the first half both the teams make several moves from both the flanks and it was Real kashmir Fc who opened the account when striker Sahil put the ball in the net and gave early lead to his side. As teams went for break scoreline remain 1-0 in favour of Real Kashmir FC (R) .
In second half of the game Real kashmir Fc dominated the proceedings and have maximum ball possession in the second half as well when shoib doubled the lead in the 65th minute of the game to make it 2-0 which make one side affair which was not expected by the spectators who came to witness the great match and when the final whistle blew the score line didn’t alter 2-0 and remained in favour of Real Kashmir FC .
Arco Fc Sopore went for an all out attack in the second half and made desperate attempts to score a goal but every move was blocked by the tight defence and man to man mark of Real Kashmir FC.
Thousand of football lovers rushed to SNW ground and took full pleasure in watching the inaugural match of 6th edition GNW football tourament, spectators supported both the teams with full zeal and enthusiasm.
On the inaugural function Syed Faheem (SDM Pattan) was the Chief guest and Mr Zameer Thakur, President JKFA along with Mr Fayaz Sofi, President DFA Sgr, and two Former International Footballers Mr. Ab Majeed Kakroo and Mr M Shafi Nari were guest of honor on the occasion.
On the opening ceremony full paraises and appreciation has been given to SNW association chanderhama who always come up with such great sports events in both cricket and football.
The aim of organising this tournament is to nurture the sports talent and development of team spirit in the youths of the district said tournament management member.
