7 dead, 8 injured after vehicle plunges into gorge in Uri

Srinagar, Jan 31: At least seven passengers died and eight others were injured in a tragic road accident in the Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said.

They said that a vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge at Bujthalan Tatmulla Uri this afternoon, leaving at least seven persons dead and several others injured.

A police official said a rescue operation was immediately launched at the site of the accident. He said the road had become slippery due to snowfall.

He said the injured have been shifted to GMC Baramulla for treatment
