India, Pakistan Armies Exchange Sweets at Line of Control on Diwali
Kyowara : To mark the auspicious occasion of Deepawali, both the Indian Army and Pakistan Army celebrated the same on the Line of Control (LC) at Tithwal Crossing Bridge on 04 Nov 2021.
Both the countries exchanged sweets and compliments with their representatives in an atmosphere of bonhomie and festivities.
The bridge at Tithwal has been a key enabler for such peace meetings. The calm along the LC as a result of ceasefire agreement has brought warmth which has been displayed on several occasions between the two neighbours.The sweets exchange is a gesture appreciated by both countries and is expected to go a long way in promoting peace, harmony and compassion in the true spirit of the festival with a hope of better future ahead.
Local people on either side also termed these gestures as unique which in turn will bring security to the population living along the borders and promote prosperity and happiness.
