8 injured in Akhnoor accident

Jammu, Mar 20 : Atleast eight persons were injured after a passenger vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident at Tanda near Akhnoor along Srinagar—Jammu highway in Jammu district on Monday evening.

Police officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a passenger bus bearing registration number JK02BC-9855 was on way to Poonch from Jammu when the driver lost his control over the vehicle and hit a roadside house.

The structure as well as the vehicle got damaged in the incident, they said, adding that the passengers travelling in the bus also sustained injuries, who were shifted to the hospital for treatment.

Eight passengers received multiple injuries in the accident and are undergoing treatment at hospital while a few others were discharged after receiving first aid.

Police said to have taken up investigation and legal proceedings into the matter at Akhnoor Police Station.
